BiographyBorn in 1970 Ram Singh Urveti hails from Patangarh, Madhya Pradesh. He has participated in a range of artist camps, including the Bharat Bhavan Artist Camp, Bhopal (1994 and 1996), the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya Camps (15 in all, conducted all over India), the North Central zone cultural centre artist camp, in Allahabad (1997) etc. Urveti has exhibited his works in a number of locations all over the world. The most notable amongst his exhibitions are ‘Chamatkar’, organized by CIMA art gallery, Calcutta at Hong Kong (1996), ‘Contemporary Indian tribal popular art’ organized by Central Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris (1998), ‘Anadi’ exhibition of Contemporary Art, Lalit Kala Akademi, Delhi (2000) and ‘Shatabdi: Reflection of a Century Past’, CIMA, Kolkata (2001), where Urveti’s work was exhibited alongside the works of Abanindranath Tagore, Ram Kinkar Baij, M.F Husain and other renowned Indian artists.
